SketchUp 15 years, 6 months agoIt sounds like you want the photomatch view without the photo showing. Is that correct? Are you using SU8? Open the Styles window and click on Modelling Settings (the last icon). At the bottom there are toggles for the match photo background.

SketchUp 15 years, 6 months agoWyatt, I brought a photo in for photo matching, I then outlined the buildings and faces that I needed to create 3D models of. I then used the orbit tool to move the camera which takes me into the 3D drawing mode where I applied materials to the faces in my model. I then created a scene with the 3D model. So, now I have the automatically generated…[Read more]

SketchUp 15 years, 6 months agoDave, it might be helpful if you could describe more specifically what you’re trying to do, because I’m not sure I understand your question. The purpose of Photomatch is to move the camera so it sets the view of the model to align to a photo you are trying to match. Can you not use scenes to switch back and forth between the different views?…[Read more]

SketchUp 15 years, 6 months agoDoes anyone know how to switch from the 2D sketching mode to the drawing mode in photo match without adjusting the camera angle? I have buildings outlined perfectly in the sketching mode but the only way I can tell to switch to the drawing mode is with the POV tools and to do that my model no longer has the correct camera view.
Thank you,

In my work GIS is an invaluable tool and I wish I had taken it in university. Unfortunately, there was a lack of emphasis on the application of GIS when I was in school. GIS can give you is a very useful tool kit in understanding complex environmental, social, and even economic relationships on any scale site. With the availability of more and…[Read more]

I would first try your local community college, if there is one nearby. Many of the community colleges near me offer two-year landscape design certificates.
I would also look into your state nursery and landscape association (MNLA is Minnesota’s) for educational material.

The ABD review class I teach spends about 1.5 days on section D. Next class is January 21-23 in San Francisco area. Plant questions should be general enough so that you can probably do OK with knowing the characteristics of the genus.

Its not. I recently saw a study where it was around 5% to 10% of those in practice use it, and I’m leaning more towards the 5%. It is a tool that has it limits and questionable returns. It is primarily used in gov’t planning depts to keep property owner information and demographics, and zoning maps. As far as information, its like shooting at a…[Read more]

Not so much. Who will control the populations of wild coyotes? Them things is dangerous, especially for your little rodent-like dogs and cats. They are even dangerous to humans if they are hungry. We need something that will keep there population in check. Next highest predator? Bears. Lets now introduce black and brown bears into the…[Read more]

Sorry, didn’t mean to get my panties in a bunch… sometimes sarcasm / humor can be lost in writing… Reintroducing animals to urban areas is an interesting subject. I suppose it depends on the specific animal. Birds of pray (eagles, hawks, etc) might be better for controlling rodent populations, including the winged rat (pigeon) than coyotes or…[Read more]

I have crossed UGA off of my list. After visiting Athens, I just don’t think I would want to live there from three years. At the LSU open house I found out that they normally do not allow deferment. If I am accepted and choose to go there but not granted in-state tuition. I will most likely take a year off and work. I will keep my current job and…[Read more]

Haha, yes I watched the news clip about the coyotes being brought into the city to control pests, but I just thought it was a funny article about bringing wildlife into the city for a specific reason. I mean both instructors that I have right now really like the idea of creating environments in which native animals could survive to some degree…[Read more]
