just a thought about online portfolios – has anyone thought about just using the Land8 photo viewer as a quick portfolio?

i was just viewing your drawings on your home page.. i like the Stadium renderings, especially colorful plan views. (#51,52,55 etc)… were they done in sketchup and 3D ? i cant really tell, but i like the edges of the colors.

I downloaded all the stuff last night, and think I remember the two problems I had with the program.
First, they say their materials work the way actual materials work, which, unfortunately, is not how 3DS MAx/Maya etc materials work. At the time I was looking I didn’t have the time or energy to commit to relearning how to make materials.

Perhaps this is simply a cavil, but these township designs are neither biomimicry nor animism. Those are two different things.
Biomimicry may offer some great inspiration and innovations for design.

As of right now, I don’t believe anyone from my graduating class has found an LA position. Some have internships, but thats about as far as it goes.

I don’t see anything in that article that implies that there is a mechanism for growth in landscape architecture. It sounds more like there might be more respect for participation of landscape architects in these types of projects. It sounds like he identifies that there are situations that can be improved by landscape architects.

I hate that shadow bug. When using SKPs native animation tool an inelegant, but effective method, is to turn off shadows on all the objects I pass under. However, exporting an image sequence obviates the problem.
