I came across this article yesterday, and as a designer it got me thinking… why not make designing for the homeless an opportunity rather than a constraint. Read the full blog and article at http://www.colemanconcepts.com/design-for-the-homeless/ It really changed my mind how I would approach this situation. What do you think??

Shavawn, I think you will find there are archived discussions of design for homeless on this site. I always have the idea that we could outfit a shopping cart with a pop-up tent, so that they could fulfill their apparent need to keep moving, perhaps provide a park with a track, bathrooms and a source of water. Then I found that someone had actually detailed that very concept.

Another of my pet ideas is to distribute pamphlets on edible plants to the homeless. Maybe get rid of some dandelions, that way..

Thank you! I am fairly new to the site, so I will check out those archived discussions. I do like your idea of the edible plants to the homeless!
