They are, in fact, lazy. Educated though they may be they are educated on useless utopian platitude. Bottom line: They never learned to fish because they were taught how evil it was to bait a hook. Consequently the stand at the top of the bank waiting to rob those with the courage to stand at teh water’s edge. They attempt to justify this coveting of another’s catch by citing an unjust world – how original. What news is this? Life isn’t fare? Why I never heard of such a thing! These gatherings are manifestations of pure arrogance. They make the bold assumption that they stocked their cabinets with all the right tools. Then when those tools don’t work they blame society. It must be someone else’s fault. Classic. Right out of a script. Protesters, go home and take inventory of your tools before you become a tool, yourself. Let reason, not fashion, be your guide. You’re not living in folk song.

If by courage…you mean the power to buy off politicians so that regulations and rules are written in their favor, say so. If by courage you mean blacklisting appraisers that won’t inflate home values to justify larger loans, perpetrating mortgage fraud on a massive level…causing the job and home loss of millions of people. Call it courage. That isn’t courage to me. That is criminal. Don’t smear the individuals that aren’t afraid to call a spade a spade. These criminals work in collusion with our politicians to advance their own profit and gain. You may say the world is “unfair”…well, we live in a land of laws and call me a “lazy” for wanting those to be enforced. Since when is it utopian to want the same voice in politics as a Wall Street tycoon? Last time I checked our forefather’s rebelled against, “Taxation without representation”…if you think you are represented in DC you are the one living in a fantasy land.
Do you deny that these are in fact, truths? That our politicians are bought? On both sides? That no matter who you vote for…policy won’t be made on what will serve the American people…but will serve a corporations bottom line? Because note…making billions of dollars in profits and receiving exorbitant bonus’ doesn’t equate to job growth. One only needs to watch the wealth accumulating while our economy stagnates to see that.

October 20, 2011 at 8:16 pm #160011Steve MercerParticipantWe I suspect that all industries need some immigrant labor. If for no other reason than to hold American workers to a quaity standard. I am sure if you are a practicing LA even if you do not build you have been on the Job when a Landscape Contractor is working. I am sure you have seen for yourself the difference of how an American crew works as opposed to a hispanic crew. Now if you want Landscape contractors to get the work done on time and on budget you are gonna need those hispanic workers to get the job done because I guarantee you if 5:00 PM comes and there is 30 mins worth of work to be completed so you can call the job finished with bad weather coming in… most American crews are gonna pack their tools up at 5 and go home the business be sdkjf! And that is exactly why business needs some immigrant crews. Because in the end SOMEBODY has still got to do the work!

October 20, 2011 at 8:23 pm #160009Steve MercerParticipantWell said Jordan! I think Heather- flying under the flag of Progressivism is actually a socialist/communist. Maybe she should move to China. You know they say you never appriecate what you have until it is taken away from you.

October 20, 2011 at 8:27 pm #160008Steve MercerParticipantNo Heather you were Robin Hood in a past life. Rob (Steal) from the rich and donate (give) to the poor even those who can work but prefer not to.

October 20, 2011 at 8:34 pm #160007Steve MercerParticipantGamed Huh? That reminds me of when gas prices rose here in Louisville, and Marathon Oil supplies most of the gas stations in Louisville, Many people started to bad mouth Marathon Oil. My uncle use to haul gasoline OTR. When ask that same question… his response was It was Marathon’s Oil… they purchased it/made it, They can sell it for whatever price they want.
That is the American way… like it or not. If you don’t like it, you are free to leave this country and renounce your citizenship. You might want to at least travel abroad first to where you plan to land and scope it out first though. (look be for you leap!)

October 20, 2011 at 8:45 pm #160005Steve MercerParticipantProtesters by their very nature love to argue with the fence posts! There are many great examples illustrated through the course of this thread!

October 20, 2011 at 8:49 pm #160003Steve MercerParticipantI don’t know of anyone who has more influence in the down fall of our economy than Barney Frank! And he is still in Washington making the same bad choices he has always made!

October 20, 2011 at 9:22 pm #160002Heather SmithParticipantSo your point…in stating Jarrod is correct in calling protesters, “lazy”, is that I am indeed correct that politicians are corrupt? You guys don’t make any sense. As far as I can see you want to be armchair quarterbacks…mocking those that actually care enough to try to do something. So please…take the time to point out all the democrats and republicans that are corrupt…and I will agree. The difference b/w you and me is that I care enough to say something in public about it. Then again…I shouldn’t be surprised that you back him up Steve…considering that you take at face value what Cain says regarding his tax…insuring me it will make people better off without checking the facts yourself. Have fun complaining.

Very funny…and very true.
October 20, 2011 at 9:57 pm #160000Jarrod KatzerParticipant“Afraid to call a spade a spade”. What do these people have to fear? Every sycophantic public and media organization is, in laughable irony, capitalizing on their “movement” by skewing their “movement” to be more palatable to the masses. You sensationalize these people as if they’re actually risking anything by being squatters. No one has the fortitude to hose them down. Any other group espousing jew-hating drivel would have had the hoses and dogs turned on them on day 2 – but not leftists – always a pass because they hide behind the same hyperbole that has led to some of the most murderous regimes in human history. Yes, I can see that you have your bullet points from various communist reading rags but do you actually think this drivel applies to everyone that doesn’t happen to drive a jalopy? Why do lefties think its ok to generalize certain groups of people but not others? Isn’t prejudice a transgression in practice and not just based on some popularized list demographics? Since when can prejudice be selectively applied? In short, you have decided to despise an enormous amount of innocent people because of the relative few number of real demonstrations of greed and gigantic amount of scripted ones. What happened to common discernment? These protesters are not saviors, they are not trailblazers, they are not heroes nor are they prophets. They are a study in stunted development. They were told a progressive lie, they believed that progressive lie and now, faced with reality, they are denying the world that provided them with the luxury of believing in fairy tales. Ideology is not a time machine that can transport you to some Marxist dream. Genocide has taken place at the hands of those that believed it was. Ideology is a necessary ingredient in our society. It’s not the whole entrée. All that being said, Heather, I respect your passion.
