While on a blind date with LGBT civil rights and another couple – ending the wars and improving America’s reputation on the international stage. It’s going delightfully I hear.
June 16, 2011 at 8:45 pm #161999Charles BrentonParticipantLast year, I worked on a project that was able to move ahead with stimulus funding. I also saw rfp’s for trail planning and design in my community that were funded with stimulus money. Private investors aren’t interested in building bike trails and safe routes to school. You should also keep in mind that the stimulus funds are paying for concrete, trees and grass seed, as well as salaries. Wise investment in infrastructure makes our communities better places.
June 16, 2011 at 9:04 pm #161998Alan Ray, RLAParticipantCould govt. influence be the reason the economy has tanked?
The only way govt. drives private sector is if you are politically connected…look who got the stimulus money and who did not….
June 16, 2011 at 9:07 pm #161997Trace OneParticipantAlan, you can shop at Wal-mart because of government initiatives…You eat cheap beef at McDonalds because of government initiatives..
No?
June 16, 2011 at 10:25 pm #161996Alan Ray, RLAParticipantWhere is this going on?
June 16, 2011 at 11:19 pm #161995ALEX PParticipanta pony? im terrified of horses, i guess i should have voted mccain.
June 16, 2011 at 11:24 pm #161994ALEX PParticipantWhere do you live that you dont have a politician? It sounds like you are asking for some kind of socialism, lots of great case studies there. of course if everyone had a job and no one was poor the world would be peaches, but we dont live in that kind of world. i couldnt even get a job at a grocery store!
June 16, 2011 at 11:27 pm #161993ALEX PParticipantI think this brings up a good point that “green” is an empty slogan/construct.. what does it really mean? its like the word sustainability.. it just is some clever marketing scheme for us to buy some product because >1% was recycled. the car comment is genius, but creepily true.
June 17, 2011 at 12:45 am #161992mauiBobParticipantForget Pres Obama’s Green jobs! He had his chance to make changes “we can believe in”. All we got is more of the same, including expanding foreign wars! As long as the GOP is smart enough to elect a viable candidate, Obama is one and done. Jimmy Carter = Barack Obama.
June 17, 2011 at 1:01 am #161991Heather SmithParticipantMy community has these projects too…my City has been extending sidewalks and trails for the past several years. Additionally, we have funding for a transit center…and we are a small town but they are really encouraging people to use mass transit.
June 17, 2011 at 2:03 am #161990Roland BeinertParticipantOh, please. Like the GOP is really going to have a viable candidate!
And a GOP president will definitely not bring about green jobs. They want to do away with the EPA, remember.
This is what we get for having a two party system. At least Obama got a few things done.June 17, 2011 at 2:57 am #161989ALEX PParticipantSarah Palin, going rogue 2012!
June 17, 2011 at 3:14 am #161988Alan Ray, RLAParticipantyeah, all I ever wanted was a pony……sigh.
June 17, 2011 at 3:17 am #161987Roland BeinertParticipantWith Donald Trump as her vice president.
