Here is some pics from the project I described below- this was from 3 months ago and is coming along nicely. Note the re-used granite that we incorporated from existing curbs on the street. The sidewalk is alternating concrete broom finish and shell agreggate wash.

What is the grade and the largest amount of water you are dealing with? The planter needs to be designed to handle whatever nature throws at you.  You can retrofit the drain like Chris said to become the overflow at the down end of your planter. Are you talking about installing a planter over a storm inlet, or a storm line? 

We are designing stormwater bioretention planters for a downtown.  We want to place a planter where a storm drain currently exists.  Can a planter be designed over a storm drain and be an effective bioretention measure — i.e. slowing down rainwater but not completely infiltrating?  Appreciate any input.

I just took section A. I thought it was on the Legal and Administrative Aspects of Practice. I have not noticed a lot of overlap – each section almost entirely pertains to its stated material. I’ve taken two of the three multiple choice exams and passed those two the first time using the following method. I might suggest that taking A&D at the same time might be a good approach as well. There was quite a bit of material that seemed to overlap on the 2 tests…might as well study it all at once!

Taking all 3 multiple choice tests at the same time is doable, but a lot depends on the individual.
Are you over-worked? (Sadly those employed generally are, due to the “attrition” the profession has experienced)
Do you have kids, significant others, sick parents, do a lot of onerous volunteer work?
How focused are you at test preparation?
