The Washington Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (WASLA) just hosted Ray a couple of weeks ago here in Seattle. He taught his 3-day seminar on Section E. We had a full room and the comments coming in from those who participated have been very good. Everybody commenting said it was very much worth while and well worth the time…[Read more]

This from Susan Erickson, Chair of the ASLA Healthcare and Therapeutic Design Professional Practice Network. If you are a member of that group (and maybe even if you’re not – worth contacting Susan about if you’re interested), please consider submitting an article for the next newsletter. Great way to share information, get exposure, and connect…[Read more]

It is unbelievable how delinquent CLARB is in posting scores. It has been over 5 weeks since I have taken my computer based exam Sec D. . .still waiting. I don’t understand how College Board can return results from an SAT exam, taken by millions of high school students across the country in only two weeks!

You’ll get the most out of any prep course (especially Section E) if you work on practice vignettes for at least a couple of weeks prior to the class. Otherwise it can be very discouraging for someone who had been out of school for years and doesn’t work on grading plans on the job.
Also, prep classes are usually full, and there’s usually only…[Read more]

There are also Prep Courses at UCLA Extension. So you can get your classes without too much travel cost. I will post those dates later today.
The site http://www.asla.org, under Education is LARE Prep. There are brand new vignettes posted that you can use to practice. These were prepare by CLARB’s test provider for ASLA to provide to candidates.I agree…[Read more]

Katrina,
My reviews in the SF Bay Area are not inexpensive, but you get a very intensive introduction to what the performance sections are about, and lots of practice and feedback opportunities.
E-mail me and I’ll send you a PDF brochure. Rayfreeman3@comcast.net

I agree, if you can avoid taking C and E at the same time you may have better luck. It is a TON of information and you can easily get confused or worse: exhausted! That’s not saying it isn’t possilbe, it is just a lot more difficult. C isn’t too bad, but section E is notorious for being a multi-round test! If you can find a review course in your…[Read more]
