I agree with Heather about building a track record of using the SSI. It is through application in the real world that tools like the SSI show their strengths and value.

The legislator happens to be a brick mason. I heard that only 30 percent of the people in the Washington legislature have college degrees. This might say something about their lack of support for teachers, colleges and universities.

Aren’t politicians wonderful? Did he do an apprenticeship to qualify for the bar exam?

In order to pass the new practice act in Washington, we had to capitulate to a legislator who said he “is an apprentice kind of guy”. Yes, the meeting went great! Stacy summed it up pretty good. It was fantastic to have Dominique come in and talk with us about her experiences using SSI on a project. From our discussions, we know there are a lot of kinks in SSI (as one would expect) but my feeling from her was that the document works well in establishing that necessary baseline…[Read more]

I will be in Chicago as well. Irene Ogata (she is the next state chapter president) said she thought that there was going to be a UofA table/room/reception… I have not been to a convention in twenty years so I do not know what to expect.
