LARE Multiple Choice Discussion 14 years, 10 months agoI’m setting this discussion group up as an information exchange resource for people sitting for the exam. Perhaps it will be helpful in de-mystifying these sections for the users.
You can perhaps also use it to set up a long distance study group, find people local to you with whom to study, and ask questions of people knowledgeable about the…[Read more] -

SketchUp 14 years, 10 months agoYes that was it!!! it works. Too bad there is no list of all these shortcuts, that would help a LOT. Thank you so much.

SketchUp 14 years, 10 months agoNot a bad question to ask at all. The easiest way is to select an item with the black arrow key [or hit spacebar]. Then click the Move tool which has arrows in all directions and can be found in the Large Tool Set or the Getting Started Toolbar [or hit M on the keyboard]. After the item is highlighted and you have the Move tool selected, hol…[Read more]

SketchUp 14 years, 10 months agoHi. I know it might sound stupid, but I still couldn’t figure out how you drag a copy in SketchUp. I can’t find any Move/Copy tool. 🙁 Hope someone can help.
Thanks. -

SketchUp 14 years, 11 months agoDoes the area obstructed show up in the image after capturing? I have had it look like it was clipped, and then after saving the view for the animation it worked.

SketchUp 14 years, 11 months agoEric, I’ll try and help but I need some more info. It might be that you’re experiencing a known “clipping” problem. That usually occurs when your model is located really far from the origin. Is that the case? Does the problem occur in all the time, or just in certain scenes? Could you repost the image from a different vantage point with the axis…[Read more]

SketchUp 14 years, 11 months agoBelieve me, if I could do it all in SketchUP Pro I would! The problem is that for Construction Drawings and Deliverables and for importing Civil Data from Survey Instruments, SketchUP is not your best tool. It lacks the 2d CAD capablilities of a standard CAD package. It is getting better though. BricsCAD (or -let me hold my nose here- Auto…[Read more]

SketchUp 14 years, 11 months agoHi David and John!
See my discussion “Land FX plug-in for Sketchup” When I was talking with Stephanie I included a typical work flow.
Hope this helps!

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 14 years, 11 months agoLet me just add to my last with a couple of tidbits. Don’t worry about taking all the tests at once. I have not noticed a lot of overlap – each section almost entirely pertains to its stated material. Frankly, I think folks that say “that test had nothing but section # material on it!” likely did not prepare long enough to know that they were be…[Read more]

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 14 years, 11 months agoI’ve taken two of the three multiple choice exams and passed those two the first time using the following method. I wrote a blog entry somewhere on this site expanding on this method but here it is in a nutshell: It may seem strange at first but it works – apparently. You should know I have no LA degree so I had even that much more of a hand…[Read more]

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 14 years, 11 months agoI might suggest that taking A&D at the same time might be a good approach as well. There was quite a bit of material that seemed to overlap on the 2 tests…might as well study it all at once!
I took all 3 at the same time. It is indeed doable if you follow Ray’s suggestions. I spent about 6 weeks studying intensively…an hour or two every…[Read more] -

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 14 years, 11 months agoTaking all 3 multiple choice tests at the same time is doable, but a lot depends on the individual.
Are you over-worked? (Sadly those employed generally are, due to the “attrition” the profession has experienced)
Do you have kids, significant others, sick parents, do a lot of onerous volunteer work?
How focused are you at test preparation?
If…[Read more] - Load More
