The Illinois chapter of ASLA is looking for a landscape sketch artist to teach a sketch / rendering class in Chicago in the Spring of 2013.  Any artist / designer who is interested in teaching a class please contact me at mbarcelos@valleycrest.com and we can discuss fees and travel accomodations.

Can anyone point  out a good source for sustainability and materials and methods. It felt great on the exam, but something has to be missing. Im floating between 2s and 3s and I have referenced many books that I have. Do the practice exams help?

Pavement Cross sections, look for 
-thickness of concrete
-proper placement of filter fabric
-water proofing etc
 
Stairs
-Riser thread heights or riser tread combined dimensions
-Handrail height, end handrail wrap up

steps, hardscaping, retaining walls, etc?

I think I’m going to buy the LaGro book to start with and try to get the other ones through interlibrary loan (which never even occurred to me at first). 
 
I would eventually like to buy all of them, but that’s almost $600 for all the books (used), exam fee, and study guides, so that’ll have to wait. 

The test had questions from all four books.  I think the Site Analysis by LaGro would be the most important followed by the Booth and Russ books.  I suggest you read them all though if you are serious about passing the exam.  They are great books to have in your library for referencing throughout your career so make the investment if you can.
