They are all great resources.  This is a great topic.  Islands can be tough.

What kind of difficulties are you finding with rain gardens in small parking lot islands?  And what is small?  200sf?  400sf?

My job position/title is “Landscape Architect” so on business cards and stationary where the title is shown, I only use ASLA.

When I am signing and sealing plans and other documents the license number is below my name so there is a bit of redundancy with using RLA.

Outside of the workplace, depending on the audience, RLA is used to emphasize my abilities and ASLA to promote the profession.

After 5 years in the Army, I dug ditches, put in irrigation systems, plants and laid sod. My mentor was very spiritual so he tought me about plants and the joy of watching things grow. I had the GI Bill so I headed up to Gaineville and started community college with the idea that I was heading towards a degree in Agriculture (plants = ag???) . I inquired about my education with a counselor and she suggested I go talk to the Dean of LA at UF. Next summer I started the program and just knew it was the right fit.
My ideal retirement was orignally to teach design at a college and live on a 50 acre tree farm, mentoring the next generation. Now, that has changed and I see much more reward in what I am doing today: policy and government.
