Good info — not very inspiring, though, and it does take some watching to determine that.

On the flip side, found a few very cool videos (from Vimeo, where my search fu is apparently stronger) related to landscape architecture that don’t manage to convey much info about the profession:

Plan Abu Dhabi – Urban Planning Short Film

WorldBuilder (Virtual architecture, landscape & otherwise)

It’s a good resource, but 137 videos (~6 hours of time if they average 3 minutes) is a lot to sort through. 😛

Hoping someone will have a clear recommendation for a video that explains & inspires people about landscape architecture.

My key takeaway from the article was that LEED is too much of a checklist of efforts, not accomplishments. It doesn’t matter how many green materials or techniques you use if the building still isn’t energy efficient.

Nick, good points, though I think the trend of seeking deeper meaning at the expense of usability has been going for much longer than the green ‘revolution’. 😛

I’ve had World Changing on my shelf since early last year, and it continues to provide inspiration. It’s a pretty massive tome, that manages to be both informative and actionable.
