LEED in Landscape Architecture 15 years, 10 months agoDoes anybody have any experience with LEED projects in India? We are working on a possible LEED ND project in Tamil Nadu and I’m not sure how some of the US requirements will transfer over there. Is the USGBC pretty amenable to adjusting the prerequisites based on differences in infrastructure systems?

The Sustainable Sites Initiative 15 years, 10 months agoHello Tamera,
Well, As a LEED AP, I can tell you that LEED doesn’t deal with the spaces BETWEEN the buildings on a level that is watershed centric, site planning, soils responsive. LEED does not give points for passive solutions, but favors mechanical solutions. In so many ways, LEED is very narrow, and SSI is very broad. Those are just a few…[Read more] -

Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 15 years, 11 months agoI created my website a few weeks back, just with a taste of my work, I figure if prospective employers/ clients like what they see, they can ask for more.
First attempt at this, any criticism would be helpful. Let me know what you think.

Residential Design Group 16 years agoI was wondering what sites residential designers use to find certain products or materials. Let’s say you want to find certain types of outdoor porcelain tiles, sculptures, water features, etc. Are there sites out there that are relevant for us to use? And if so, would anyone like to share these?

Residential Design Group 16 years, 1 month agoWow…. and I thought my comment was long winded!
This is great, though, David. I appreciate it. It is helpful to have to have a peer reviewed pub in this conversation (it means i better try to find the one I was referencing!). And it does run contrary to the prevailing wisdom in the “green” community regarding turf. Do you have a web link or…[Read more]

The Sustainable Sites Initiative 16 years, 1 month agoJoy, have your Chapter Trustee or President check in with Liz at ASLA national and she can certainly help find appropriate speakers for you. Also, the ASLA Sustainable Design & Development PPN can help guide you as well. We have many talented speakers that can address many different aspects of this topic.
