Amy…sounds like it is going to be a great trip! I took off 3 months last year and backpacked around Europe. I would definitely recommend Paris, I only spent 2 days there and it was one of the biggest regrets of my trip. Rome is a must, but truthfully i enjoyed Florence more. Well, I am pretty sure the DC/Maryland area is not the best, but it does have some good things going on. Maryland for example has some of the best environmental litigation in the country.
