Graphics 17 years, 2 months agoI just picked up a handful of Blick markers. Are they any good? I’ve used AD and Prismacolor, are these better, worse, or about the same?

Residential Design Group 17 years, 3 months agoA member in another forum in the lounge asked a question about resume’s and CV’s- where might she find a template to create these.
Here’s an online resource I found recently that might be of use to some of you-I haven’t used it myself., but it does seem to have potential.

Pacific Northwest 17 years, 3 months agoI put an album on my folio called “Parks & Restoration . Anderson Property”. This is the project I worked on which integrates restoration and design (part of the paper I mentioned in the last email). A topic which could be argued about. You also might want to go to UW campus and see the Fisheries building and adjacent parking lot and the Shell…[Read more]

LEED in Landscape Architecture 17 years, 3 months agoNote: Buildings are “certified”, people are “accredited” – a possible question on the test according to a USGBC study group I went to. I am taking the test in December.

Pacific Northwest 17 years, 4 months agoHi Karen, I wrote a paper on your topic, “The Restoration of a Harvested Thuja plicata/Tsuga heterophylla Forest Ecosystem to Recreate Mature Second Growth with Old-Growth Characteristics and Aesthetic Qualities” I believe you can use native plants in such a way that can achieve a “stunning landscape”. Veg.itecture 17 years, 4 months agoCheck out Jason’s review on Patrick Blanc’s new book The Vertical Garden.
And I have to agree, it is indeed quite fabulous and I am not at all disappointed. If nothing else, it is worth it to see the pictures of Mr. Blanc himself perched over a waterfall with his green hair.

Graphics 17 years, 4 months agoResponse to comment by Brent Farrar, I have used turpentine and pastels on normal paper. you get a similar effect of watercolour, but the paper does not wrinkle, this was my solution to getting the watercolour feel without all the hassle.

Graphics 17 years, 4 months agoHey Brandon….thanks for the invite. I use Vectorworks to create landscape designs…..do you know where can I find more information on realistic coloring techniques to use on my Vectorworks drawings so it looks like I used real colored pencils. Are there any other ways to make the drawings look high end? Peace!
