Wow, thanks for all the valuable information Chris! My question was a combo of both learning CDs for LA in general and using AutoCAD to generate CDs. I will check out my local municipalities and browse through the forums here. Thanks for addressing my second question too! Your response was very helpful! 🙂

Thanks Jordan! I saw that on Amazon, but I don’t have the budget to purchase them. I’ll check out my local library!

Thank you Tosh! I will def check out that German magazine. I know a friend who works for an Architecture company. I’ll ask him if they can give me a few copies of their CDs for learning purposes. I just checked out the website caddetails.com and I am really liking it! And thanks for also addressing my second question! 🙂

If possible, could you find out what their experience has been like so far? Thanks!

Landscape planner, I would like to know more about your Landscape Architecture job in China. I’ve noticed more job posts for entry level positions in China. What are your thoughts on the jobs out there and your experience? I graduated with a BA in LA, but I have not yet taken a job in this field since graduation. I have been thinking of applying for jobs in China, but I am not sure whether the decision of going to the other side of the world would be a good idea. Any info would be gladly appreciated!

    Hello Chris,

I’ve been away from Land8 for awhile as I have been busy with other things. I doubt it has to do with a link problem because it would state that when I open up the InDesign document. But regardless, is there a way to find out of a broken link?

Your second guess could be a likely problem. I will try to tinker around with the ppi to see what I get. Thanks again for helping me out and taking the time to respond to my inquiry. Appreciate it very much!

As you can see, it doesn’t make a different whether its low quality or maximum quality. I think the reason this is happening only when I convert it to an Interactive pdf is because it might have something to do with the fact that the original files are images. These are the original layers that I put together in Photoshop. I can’t remember what file type they are, but most likely jpegs.

Here’s what it looks like when I export it with a “Low” quality and keep the other settings the same.

    Chris,

Honestly, I’d rather not get into too much detail and confuse the heck out of everyone. But I will keep it simply by saying that I exported the section from InDesign under “Automatic” compression at “72” ppi with a “Maximum” JPEG quality. Here’s what I got:
