Middle East Landscape 17 years, 2 months agoHi everyone! I have worked in Cairo on a collaborative project with Ain Shams University architecture students. It was an amazing experience and I would love to go back…maybe someday! I am glad to have found this room so I can see all the wonderful projects you are all working on in that part of the world.

Residential Design Group 17 years, 2 months agoA member in another forum in the lounge asked a question about resume’s and CV’s- where might she find a template to create these.
Here’s an online resource I found recently that might be of use to some of you-I haven’t used it myself., but it does seem to have potential.

Veg.itecture 17 years, 3 months agoCheck out Jason’s review on Patrick Blanc’s new book The Vertical Garden.
And I have to agree, it is indeed quite fabulous and I am not at all disappointed. If nothing else, it is worth it to see the pictures of Mr. Blanc himself perched over a waterfall with his green hair.

Middle East Landscape 17 years, 7 months agoThe accreditation system seems quite blurry for now this side, save bulletins for seminars by the Emirates Green Building Council (initiative by HH Sheik Makhtoum), but developers are taking notice. Much talk in meetings about projects meeting Green Building standards, but not much push or initiative from the companies yet on getting on board the…[Read more]

Middle East Landscape 17 years, 7 months agoI’m currently involved in a number of projects (mainly Qatar) going for LEED accreditation, some of the platinum.
It is not a directive from our consultancy (consider impact on client cost) but a desire from the client.

Middle East Landscape 17 years, 7 months agoHello all.
Three questions for all. (1) How significant is the LEED initiatives of the UAE (or the GCC in general) to your current projects and practice? (2) Is LEED accreditation a must in your office? (3) Have your office/EGBC/local LEED contacts informed you of the process to get accreditation?
A mouthful but important. Thanks in advance for…[Read more]

Residential Design Group 17 years, 9 months agoThanks guys for the responses. They were very helpful! Next time though, make sure to respond to the actual thread instead of posting on the wall. Once more threads get started, it could get very confusing if everyone responded on the wall. But thanks again for the help!
