thanks for the input. completely agree salary is not the overarching goal but it is good to have a sense of your local areas range.

Good eye! I’m thinking they dumped a bunch more soil in there to plant what look to be seed impatiens (which they should NOT have planted this year with the disease and all). If you blowed up the pickiture by clicking on it, you will also see that these trees are STAKED. To what, exactly? I don’t know.

And judging by the relationship of the tree canopy to the grade, they planted the trees at the sidewalk grade and dumped about 3 feet of soil on top of the rootball. Who needs mulch volcanoes when you can have soil silos?

Your correct. I should have been more specific. When you register for an exam, CLARB sends a packet in the mail with all of your information about that exam. Where I live, when you finish an exam CLARB sends a written letter through the mail that tells you that your scores are available online. I am not saying that you didnt get this information…[Read more]

I couldn’t agree more about the inability to resuscitate CLARB from their drunken power stupor. At this point no one person or group will be able to help CLARB function more efficiently, or be able to influence CLARB in any way. Especially when the majority of professionals participating seem to agree with the way CLARB does business. CLARB…[Read more] -

Every other notification candidates receive from CLARB is through the USPS.
Not so – you get email notifications that the LARE scores are available, check the website (through CLARB portal via logging in) to access your score, transmit your record electronically to the state, etc. They’re just falling in line with a lot of other institutions in…[Read more] -

the San Diego zoo is actually a world-famous botanical collection in addition to being an animal collection – as far as I know, you can design zoo cages with plants, and should design with plants.

I was actually just pointing out that there a are many candidates frustrated at the situation. …that not everyone who disagrees with you is a ‘nut’.
And the ‘?’… Yeah. I always right half assed non-responses that attempt to confuse the conversation because I took one second to look at and respond, but not even digest a comment that was said…[Read more] -

This doesn’t surprise me. Maintaining lush vegetation and a thriving lichen colony inside the exhibit may not be practical given the horticultural resources available. Zoos also have sanitary concerns. A big concrete box is much easier to clean and disinfect than one that embraces a more ecological approach.
