I feel bad for anyone who lost credit due to CLARBs test format revisions. I know many people spend lots of time and money in order to further their careers, and it can seem very unfair when a seemingly faceless organization proclaims that your previously passed tests do not count. That stinks. I hear you.
I also think you all are talking about…[Read more] -

I am searching for any and all candidates who lost any LARE exam credit during CLARB’s transition. We could get a class action lawsuit started if we can get enough people.

1) CLARB’s short notice was intentional. The main purpose is so that the fewest amoun of candidates possible are given a fair shot. Reason: CLARB’s statistics show that it takes the average candidate 3 attempts to pass the last 3 exams. By offering a “1 year transition” most candidates don’t have time to take the last 3 exams 3 times since…[Read more] -

Dear J. Robert,
Wow!
First of all, I’m from Plano! Grew up there, and graduated from PSHS in ’88. (Now I live and work in Houston).Secondly, your message is so wonderful and sweet, I already feel hopeful!! This is such a generous and great offer.. absolutely I would love for you to mentor me, I would be so grateful.
So logistically, how did…[Read more] -

Richard’s right. Vectorworks Landmark has a couple of tools that would help in this. The first is the plant placment mode for triangular array, which once you create the shape, you convert it to a plant, with the triangular array on and it will arrange the plant symbols, according to the specified spacing in that area. Another tool that helps in…[Read more]

I am quite interested to know more about this add-on, as it is exactly the type of ‘work streamlining’ that I’m looking after.
I already use plant specific layers, blocks for trees, and getting all that on an excel sheet efficiently without having to define a library of blocks with attributes sounds just lovely.

I’d like to bump this thread and ask Scott what solution he is using now, and if he is satisfied with it.

when it’s a complex design I personally use hatch. Much easier, and the guys on site do a first readjustment where necessary. Then the plants take over and adjust themselves wonderfully.
Now, I’m quite curious to know how you ‘set an array path’, will look it up.

Dear Temp Impact,
Where do I begin?
When notification of the exam transition came out last summer , I was a little taken aback at
1) The short notice and
2) how Section D was assimilated into the new Sections 3 and 4.
And then as I looked into it closer and realized that I could potentially lose credit for tests I have already PAID for and PASSED.…[Read more] -

Hi Karmara,
Might be able to find someone in the LARE Group that is in your area. You can also do a search for members in your area here: https://land8.com/profiles/members/advancedSearch
Hope that helps!

I’ve run into two types of older employees. The first type has a lot of patience and clearly wants to help you get a good start at the firm. They give you insights about how that particular firm works (since each one is different), teach you shortcuts and other things you don’t know, give good, detailed instructions and have a sense of humor…[Read more]

Well sure, but for what it is worth, my original question was closer to “Is there a problem?”
