Green Streets 14 years, 7 months agoSo does the water go through in the right hand corner of each cell? Or is each cell a separate containment area?

LARE Multiple Choice Discussion 14 years, 7 months agoCan anyone point out a good source for sustainability and materials and methods. It felt great on the exam, but something has to be missing. Im floating between 2s and 3s and I have referenced many books that I have. Do the practice exams help?

LARE Multiple Choice Discussion 14 years, 7 months agoGreat, thanks for the help!
I think I’m going to buy the LaGro book to start with and try to get the other ones through interlibrary loan (which never even occurred to me at first).
I would eventually like to buy all of them, but that’s almost $600 for all the books (used), exam fee, and study guides, so that’ll have to wait. -

LARE Multiple Choice Discussion 14 years, 7 months agoThe test had questions from all four books. I think the Site Analysis by LaGro would be the most important followed by the Booth and Russ books. I suggest you read them all though if you are serious about passing the exam. They are great books to have in your library for referencing throughout your career so make the investment if you can. LARE Multiple Choice Discussion 14 years, 7 months agoJessica,
I have Site Analysis, and Site Planning & Design Handbook. I read both of them, but only skimmed the Site Planning book. Definitely read Site Analysis and get the PPI study material, and maybe the CLARB practice test. That is what got me to pass this time.

SketchUp 14 years, 7 months agoHey Daniel – I have a quick (hopefully) question. I tried to create a shade structure, but I can’t seem to figure out how to control the direction the fabric is taking. On the attached SU file, I would like the fabric to have a downward curve (showing the gravity) and instead I have an upward curve. Is there a quick way of changing the curve……[Read more]

Landscape Architecture Theory 14 years, 7 months agoAs McHarg, Carson and colleagues set the sustainability movement in motion is there any discussion on chaos theory which may be a contemporary building block to add to McHarg’s shoulders?

Landscape Architecture Theory 14 years, 7 months agoAre we really landscape architects/ designers? Are we not philosophers, psychologists, subversive thinkers and all connecting with an unknown place – jumping not knowing where we might land and sometimes failing? Who knows where he/she is going? Chase Teddy Roosevelt’s lecture to the Sorbonne in 1910!
