I can only speak about the Women’s March in DC Leslie. The difference between the march and Trump rallies is easy to point out. Trump rallies are where a group of people who mostly look the same go to listen to a guy who is already elected say the same stupid and hateful stuff he said on the campaign trail just weeks ago. On the other hand the…[Read more]

I made the decision to become a Christian and to live my life as Christ-like as possible. Don’t be scared people, not in a creepy, far-off stare kind of way, but to do my best to live by those teachings. Believe me, it’s a pain in the butt sometimes and can be very inconvenient when you want to do something that you know is wrong. For me it’…[Read more]

Bob—I am a man who has said horrible and did piggish things to girls when I was a boy. By the time I reached high school I had developed enough to control that primitive thing that’s in most men. Being a jock, I was exposed to tons of testosterone driven stupidity. Here’s the thing, and I’m glad to admit it, almost all of us knew that shit wasn’t…[Read more]

Big picture wise, I think the one two punch of Obama and then Trump has been like much needed roughage for the country. What a contrast. We’ve been ingesting a big dose of the Kardasians, Honey Boo-Boos, garbage music (shout out to TODAYS hip-hop industry), Madoffs, Teen Moms, Cosbys, Sanduskys and other bad foods. The people are finally waking u…[Read more]

I’m sorry Leslie, but I’m having a really hard time understanding where you’re coming from. As an independent I can see something like Clinton vs. Kaschic (sp?) being a tough choice. But the guy who brags about grabbing women’s crotches by force (while married), checks out under aged beauty contestants and tries to physically intimidate his female…[Read more]

I see how it works. DT and co. want to starve old people, ruin the environment, build a multi-billion dollar wall that might be an inconvenience to smugglers for a while, slash programs that help poor white children in Appalachia, give false hopes to coal miners and steel workers and on and on. And your defense is a word gumbo of Billary, pinko…[Read more]

I guess that means I’m not going to get my maglev train to the west coast anytime soon. It won’t be long before we’ll have to pay tolls to do local errands.
Don’t worry LAs I think we’ll be ok, this might mean that sprawl will become the new “green” and we can stop worrying about planting natives and SWM. I’m angling to capture the private prison…[Read more] -

Gee Bob, you’re killing me with kindness and I have to respect that. I have to admit that I am a bit disarmed by your response, because I’ve been in full blown fight mode since the Women’s March. That day I saw a unity in this country that I had never seen. The politeness and cooperation between all kinds of people gave me a feeling of patriotism…[Read more]

I can’t tell you why liberals tend flock towards our profession. Maybe it’s compassion.
I don’t fit very well in the typical liberal box. I like to consider myself an open minded person who believes that the left and the right both have good ideas and the answer falls somewhere in the middle. I even believe that some of the president’s ideas j…[Read more] -

At first it was funny. Americans were glued to their TV sets waiting for the next laugh. No one believed that the clown car would make it to the White House. It seems like most of the country is just shell shocked right now because we were not prepared for the results of the election. It seems like the right has to be as uncomfortable as everyone…[Read more]

After an incredible first week for the new administration, I think we can count on them to dot all the ‘I’s and cross all the ‘T’s. Considering how smoothly things are going, I believe our omnipotent billionaire president knows what’s best for us. Relax Landscape Architects; we can go back to making lots of money building roads in dry creek bed…[Read more]

I have a feeling we are going into a boom period as design professionals. Constructions going to be firing on all cylinders for a while building things that we desperately need to build, then there will be another crash. I just hope I can make enough during the boom to make it through the next bust.

Bob – I love America just like you do. The difference is that I appreciate the beauty of the diversity that we have. Living and working with people from different countries and faiths has made my life richer. I’ve learned that there are a few bad apples, but overall people want the same thing. They just want to live their lives in peace.

Dave-thanks for the support. I may have come on stronger than I should have, but I’m just tired of people wrapping themselves up in the flag and claiming to be patriots, while they incite a climate of fear. It’s like you disagreed with your Republican friends and neighbors, but you never looked at each other as enemies.

First I want to start out by saying that I’ve been a big fan of yours for some time now Leslie and I always appreciate your input, even when it does go over my head. I really try to stay out of political discussions on this site, but your enthusiasm for the new president is way over the top. I’m thankful that hate filled people like you are the minority. I sat in on a presentation for this product earlier this year. From what I understand they can finish the wood to look like tropical wood. It’s preserved with a non-toxic vinegar solution and is supposed to last a good while even when used in contact with soil. I haven’t had the opportunity to use yet, but I’m curious to see how it performs. Check…[Read more]
