Graphics 16 years, 3 months agoEric,
I couldn’t tell you how to do it using drop shadows, but I could offer some good advice on doing it manually in photoshop without creating numerous layer copies and keeping the file size down.
send me a message if you still need help with this and I’ll explain some simple tricks.

Xerophytic Landscapes 16 years, 3 months agoJust a thought from Soil Science perspective on reducing the water requirements for any plant. Use lots of organic material and or peat moss around the plant,(not too much) and surround other areas with sand. Make sure the drip is going on the water holding material. Sand has the lowest affinity for water while clay has the highest and organic…[Read more]

Graphics 16 years, 3 months agoJames Richards is great. I love his simple color palette. He blends darker colors in his lighter colors to make things look cohesive. For instance, he used carmine red and true blue (i think it was true blue) prismacolor color pencils over cream to create this really nice effect. So, the cream hardscape and buildings really popped after i tried to…[Read more]

Graphics 16 years, 5 months agoI have questions about Vectorworks.. one of that is.. when I use VW for 3d site modeling, it becomes so slow.. I made layers simple, even classes.. But still slow..
I’m using ‘i-mac’ resent version. How I can make it faster? Change Graphic Card?
Up Grade Memory? Is there anybody knows about VectorWorks? -

Graphics 16 years, 6 months agoI use mostly Photoshop for my renderings, I have dabbled a bit in Corel Painter, and Corel Painter Sketchbook, but I really like photoshop. The trick to the water is its is an image that I found on Google images and distorted into perspective in Photoshop and then pasted into the image…

Digital assets and resources 16 years, 6 months agoI’ve used Auto Cad for 7years and I have to move on Vector Works for a new Company. It’s so confusing and not so much information so far.. Tutorials don’t really give me right answers and I have many problems to figure out, but it’s difficult ask somebody.. Not so many people are using this..

Xerophytic Landscapes 16 years, 6 months agoCharles, This is probably easier to deal with in Phoenix as most people don’t really expect anything to live here without water. Even natives. I don’t know how you can expect a plant that is used to regular and frequent irrigation at the grower, to suddenly become a plant that thrives with irregular and infrequent feeding.

Xerophytic Landscapes 16 years, 6 months agoYa Bill, all I know is when a local suburban city requires the planting of natives in parking lot islands that get hammered by not only the heated asphalt but also the vehicle exhaust, I tend to shake my head. With pedestrians tromping through and no irrigation, it is just tough sledding. What we need is to educate the planners who write the…[Read more]

Xerophytic Landscapes 16 years, 6 months agoYa Charles, all the natives around here grow in balls and cubes. You never have to water them and they never grow past the 3′ dia. ball or cube. They even flower in colors that contrast well with the building they are planted next to. I love natives. They’re truely the answer to all your sustainable dreams. You just need more experience, buddy.
