LEED in Landscape Architecture 17 years, 2 months agoI’ve been aware of SSI but hadn’t seen their latest report. Go to: http://www.sustainablesites.org
You’ll find a link to the report on the first page. I must say, the “documentation” requirements suggested in this report read like an undergraduate studio assignment for a year-long class. My recent work on a small LEED project looks like a total of…[Read more] -

EDAW Lounge 17 years, 7 months agoI’ll be there… not at EDAW anymore but hopefully just between EDAW jobs. Ha Ha. I assume Alan Harwood from the Alexandria office will be there since he’s giving a presentation on Sunday of the National Capital Framework Plan. Super excited to see how that is going after all my blood, sweat and tears went into it.

I know several including Bill Vitek, Dennis Carmichael, Tim DeLorm and Donna Walcavage will be there at least for the Fellow dinner Sat night.. I’m not aware of anyone else from my office (Denver) that is going.. Anybody else going? At past meetings we’ve tried to connect. Any thoughts on that?
Anyone else going?

EDAW Lounge 17 years, 10 months agoHi there,
I’m doing a project with 3m high free standing gabion wall using welded mesh baskets (75 x75mm grid) filled alternately with sandstone and basalt to simulate coal seam profile. Does anyone have a detail for the structural support for this kind of wall? Thanks for any info. -

EDAW Lounge 17 years, 10 months agoCraig, how far does the framework plan go?
Sounds like there are plenty interesting projects going on in China especially the brownfield redevelopment part. Did you guys associate any cultural issues with the plan? There are always stories behind those rivers with thousands of years of history in China. Besides, the reuse of industrial sites is…[Read more] -
