Repeating information is not plagiarism. Saying you wrote it (or designed it) is. I agree with some of the other replys – a web development company must have gotten a hold of your images.

I agree, I think its because your site google’s very well. I noticed that the drawings that were knicked shows up at the very beginning when doing an image search using “Toronto” and “landscape”.
Google is getting better at picking up flash by the way. They introduced a new system in late 2008 I…[Read more]

With regards to Google, you might be able to thumbnail the images (since thats what comes up with an image search anyway) and link to a flash image at full web res. Of course, text based search also works. Perhaps that is why your images are getting lifted, they may be TOO Google freindly.

hahaha, some funny responses.
I haven’t had a problem.
I passed 4 of 6 the first go, passed site planning this past December on my second try and taking D in March for the second time. They aren’t the easiest but if ya study and work with stuff daily you should be able to pass them.I have some digital study material if anyone needs it.
I had to…[Read more] -

Flash is not so Google friendly…although it looks great, it is harder to capture Google’s attention with your content. But I do agree, there are many ways to prevent people from stealing the work…it just bothers me that people are out there representing our industry and advertising themselves falsely. To me it is…[Read more]

This is something I see not infrequently in the photography realm. Unfortunately the only way to completely protect your work is to not post it. There are a couple of ways to combat it. You’ve already dealt with contacting offenders directly and mentioned you were tired of doing that. You might consider a more legal approach, including cease and…[Read more]

I agree that taking the LARE is an expensive and challenging process. However, I feel that the exam should be somewhat rigorous. Public safety and welfare are important aspects of landscape architectural practice. As previously mentioned, the LARE tests for a minimum level of competence. Diluting the content or lowering the exam standards would…[Read more]

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 1 month agoHas anyone seen the pass rates for Section E from June 2009 and Dec. 2009? Talk about a big drop. Went from 48% to 32%. Wow! It seems that there is a cycle as far as passing rates go.

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 1 month agoI too…would like to thank Brandon for this thread. I passed A, B, C, & D first time through in (March & June of 2008). Now if only I could pass E (failed it three times, most recently Dec. 2009).

Take a look into Portland, Oregon. I ran into a small town in Washington – Washougal which had just rennovated it small downtown main street for farmers markets and plaza space. All parallel parking areas were pervious pavers with slots in the curbs for water to drain into planted swale areas. Very functional example. I can send you some pictures…[Read more]

I can see why people want to use your work to sell theirs, its great. One of the big questions to ask is how are they getting the images? If its from the web, thats pretty easy, just right click and choose ‘save as’. You may want to chat with your web people to set your gallery up as a flash slideshow/gallery, as to avoid the easiest way to steal…[Read more]

I’m in the same situation – off work to raise kids now finally getting down to my exams.
My recommendation is to read the books they have listed on the study materials. I wouldn’t bother with the study materials that you can buy from Amazon (published by ppi). I got them and they are way harder than the tests – probably a waste of money. I don’t…[Read more] -

Librety Hills in Charleston, SC used permeable pavers in the alleys of the development. Oak Terrace Preserve in Charleston also uses permeable pavers in the alleys and also used curb-side bioretention swales that flow to pocket parks that treat stormwater.
