Yes, I up graded in 2012 with the support avail to upgrade to 2013. Many f my collaborators are using 2010.
I don’t plan on revisiting the issue until 2016 if I can help it. -

Thanks! Good to know. We’re planning our budgets through 2015 and wanted to make sure if I need to plan for that upgrade or not! I’m still figuring out 2013!

File format changes only every 3~4 yrs (00, 04, 07, 10, 13), those are the big jumps so unless you’re on subscription it’s not worth the jump. 2013 was the big change year, my guess is 2014 is not significant.

Normally companies will skip every other version to save on cost and training. I even know some firms still use AutoCAD 2008! Just wait for 2015 version… it’s just around the corner.

Thank you for the links Andrew. Much appreciated. The info in the California requirements is great.

That’s a good point Leslie about checking on past grads of the program. I’m changing careers at 35 and had reservations about a 4-year college. I would be hitting the bottom of the ladder at 40 and licensed at 41 or 42. I guess the Associates seemed like the easy road to get back to an income. I need to research a little more.

Jacob,
It appears that an Associates Degree in Landscape Architecture in California is the equivalent of one year work experience.
Here is California’s requirements:

I brought this up a few months ago when I heard of my first one. I think it is a misnomer and misleading students, and don’t see how it could be that beneficial unless a 4-year school coordinated to accept some transfer credits. But then someone answered that one he knew was headed by a licensed LA, so that might help although it still would be…[Read more]

Incorporate them into the rain garden ecosystem. How can they help with infiltration and esthetics? Are they not part of the landscape by cultural design?

Yes there are many social issues to deal with when designing public space in India. You listed some important ideas.
