Does this look built enough for ya? And what can brown do for you?
Funny, I don’t recall learning about trapeziodal composite limestone in my geology courses? I fear for this wall in 5 years when the roots on them trees take off. Sing with me…”And the wall..comes a tumblin’ down…tumble-in tumblin’…dowwwwwn”

Just a few months ago everyone was praising urban areas, because they provided the right setting for the protests in Egypt. Sometimes things get violent when people are upset about something, but I don’t think that means we should make it harder for them to…[Read more]

The area of London were the riots are taking place is one which has seen little in the way of regeneration in recent years.most of the buildings are cramped Victorian terraced houses or poor quality council flats built after the war. I cant see these conditions doing the community any good as a whole, especially for the younger generation were g…[Read more]

I agree. They have real reason to be frustrated…but this is the wrong way to go about it. Very sad for the people losing their homes and businesses. Anyone remember the WTO riots in Seattle? All it takes is a spark…doesn’t even have to be related to the recession…and we will have the same thing.

Richard, it looks like the urban retail market in the UK is going to be generating a lot of rebuilding work in the coming months!

I think it is sprawl that creates the anomie that possibly is giving rise the the London riots, although the Al Jazeera reporter yesterday said there is categorically NO political component at all, several times..
I grew up in McLean Virginia, one of the most disgusting sprawl environments I ever had to experience, with the exception of Gwinnett…[Read more] -

I am not “happy” but you mean to say your premiums never went up before health care reforms? They only started after? Because I doubt it. My deductible is $7,500…so pretty much catastrophic. Guess what…thats life. I doubt your premium would be less…but now you have a scapegoat…with “Obamacare”. I am sure the insurance company were the ones…[Read more]

Maybe you can get an alum or the school to chip in. I used saved up miles and crashed a friend’s couch or two attending these things, which made it worth it for me. It might be a good investment if you see a lineup of lectures and seminars you want to see. It almost compresses a year’s worth of a lecture series into a weekend. The opp…[Read more]

I am actually glad…my health insurance now covers preventative. We are self employed and have to buy our own. I would question whether your health insurance truly went up to due to Obama policies…I am sure we could “link” each other over the head. Additionally, they can’t deny health coverage due to pre-existing conditions. If they are telling…[Read more]

Thanks. I will check out the natl tree calc and i-tree models. Most of the journals can quickly become mind numbing and cumbersome. It seems like the scientists themselves are sorting out ways to best tabulate experimental data. Most research i have found is aimed at crop production and potential vs actual evapo-transpiration concerning…[Read more]
