Actually, that’s what I’m interested. I wonder if I can work for developer firms and later became one of them as developer/investor. The problem is I don’t have business background. I’m curious how should I start this career. Of course, I will not have problem to work as designer as well.

Hi David,
I’m sorry I didn’t make clear on my questions. I agree with you on how CAD style works well in 2D linework and Rhino doesn’t look perfect for building design. But in addtion to design in realism, I’m also willing to learn different rendering for experimental design. -

Hi Joshua,
I noticed you are graduate student at Clemson. I will be a graduate student in this Fall as well. The reason I asked about software is I want to learn a software to accomplish my ideas to models in “artist” style like you said. Did you try abstract or bionics shape in your assignment before? (It doesn’t matter if Arch. or L Arch.) I’…[Read more] -
Chunling Wu replied to the topic MLA accredited or not by ASLA in the forum EDUCATION 13 years, 9 months ago
Thank you for the answers.
I’m an international student so that I don’t have American accredited degree for undergraduate. There are only 67 accredited universities including BLA and MLA in US. Not considering TOP schools like Harvard and UPenn and the ones in the areas I don’t really like, I didn’t have many choices left. The fact is I have re…[Read more] -

The second printscreen is my work, setting pline, use “offset simulation” to get a truck tracing.
I didn’t use “generate arc path” because it’s random, I can not control the radius of turning and how much curb would be cut.
The first printscreen is an example I had, and you could see they use different way,I have 3 questions for AutoTurn- a. wh…[Read more] -

Actually it’s one of the options from US office.
This is a typical retail site in US like the area of Kroger or Food 4 Less. I can’t show entire site for some regulations.
I have same feeling like you, it’s not an option I can understand either. When they asked me offer an option with RIRO, I had no idea for that, I thought the right access is the…[Read more] -

Robert,
Really thank you. You gave me ideas for driving flow.
Actually I got a layout from US office today. It’s a RIRO from cutting curb. I’d like to show you that tomorrow, maybe you could explain a little bit on layout.
Another question is do you know AutoTurn on your project? Because I saw civil is also your employment. -

Land8lounge was introduced to me by my friend. It’s a pretty good platform for communication in landscaping field. When you go through different walls, portfolio, pictures, you can get ideas from different people, even they are from different field. Meanwhile, your passion may be growing up when you see some neat design. You may get cheers or…[Read more]

I scan the replies through, someone mentioned Microstation which is not easy to make drawing fast. Actually civil engineers prefer it since its 3D ability with Inroad, which can create site model (with grading, curbs, storm piping, etc) with datum. Both of them are from Bently. Comparing with AutoCAD, I do hope it can be improved much more.…[Read more]
