Here is some pics from the project I described below- this was from 3 months ago and is coming along nicely. Note the re-used granite that we incorporated from existing curbs on the street. The sidewalk is alternating concrete broom finish and shell agreggate wash.

What is the grade and the largest amount of water you are dealing with? The planter needs to be designed to handle whatever nature throws at you. You can retrofit the drain like Chris said to become the overflow at the down end of your planter. If you have a lot of slope, check dams can hold the water and pool it to infiltrate fully. We are designing stormwater bioretention planters for a downtown. We want to place a planter where a storm drain currently exists. Can a planter be designed over a storm drain and be an effective bioretention measure — i.e. slowing down rainwater but not completely infiltrating? Appreciate any input.

Hello all.. Any plant buffs out there have experience with Panicum virgatum ‘heavy metal’ or ‘Northwind’ in the SF bay area? Based on the zone specs it should be fine but my broker hasn’t sold too many of them and couldn’t comment on how they perform in the area… any help would be appreciated.

If anybody here has done any public work involving raingardens in Florida let me know! Christopher- The thing that stood out the most is your resume. Move your education down towards the bottom- below everything other than maybe affiliations. With it on top, above professional experience, you are making it look like it is more important than your actual work.

The idea is to have a page where the Spanish landscape architects can post their details (city, email, tf, and web page, photo, …). I post mine like example but is an open format. Mark, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to your old employer to ask for more samples. That employer could be very understanding of the circumstances “out there” and want to help you. – Who knows, maybe he will have just gotten a big job and will need to hire you back!
