One more point: your illustration indicates a rather small planter for this vine of which much is expected. The limited soil will both limit the vine and ry out very quickly

I would add that vines can require a lot of maintenance to keep them looking good and prevent them from consuming the Universe. Are the clients prepared for that?

Be cautious of tree species that require a dormancy. Almost all oaks and Lagerstroemia require a great deal of light indoors.

Important issues that I believe have not been mentioned:
If the same tree species is to be used, it must thrive in the outdoor conditions but also indoor conditions: winter heat and dry air, summer AC, light level. If light is coming only from above then there will be leaves only on the perimeter of the canopy.

Thanks Robert. After reading Andrew’s link I decided to simply contact the Project Manager. This project does require that planting plans be stamped.

Thanks Andrew. It appears to me that planting plans are fine but I’ll still need to inquire whether the State agency requires that landscape plans be stamped.

The Middle East is a diverse place with different cultures and different relationships to the landscape. If you can focus on what you wish to learn it will be easier to begin.

But fascinating! Now he needs to study Arabic. Why try to understand the history of Middle East landscapes by only reading what English speakers have to say about it?
