Dear Land8Lounge Member,
I just come across an outstanding watercolor artist Jack Tia Kee Woon, his paintings are incredibly phenomenon. Each painting is so alive, colorfully glow with all six colors, and loosely expressed in style of its own. I upload 4 of his painting under photos. 1. Learn best graphic tricks available. So don’t waste time studying by yourself. 2. Learn to copy other people’s work. Buy graphic books and copy, copy, and copy. 3. Work hard, never stop drawing. Create opportunity to draw and draw continuously.
Believe me, if you follow the above…[Read more] -

Habitat Restoration and Mitigation 14 years, 3 months agoTanya, thanks for the advice. My first option would be to get professional experience in restoration design before I go back to school and I’m very much looking into that but also looking to keep my options open. Also, thanks for the advice about the portfolio, that’s something that I’m aware of but it slipped my mind at the time. Changing now, thanks!

Habitat Restoration and Mitigation 14 years, 3 months agoHey Charles – rather than spending more $$$ you might try an internship with someplace like Barr Engineering in Minneapolis – they have a lengthy restroration portfolio. Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 14 years, 3 months agoPeter, your comment about approaching your portfolio from a print format perspective is interesting. I think many of us who spend a lot of time at the drawing board suffer from this, and moving our personal work to digital format is a jump for some. I think that if you have a standardized filing system in place that is reflected on your co…[Read more]

Portfolios and Resumes – Design Strategies 14 years, 3 months agoThanks for the feedback, Page! It’s funny, looking back now I obviously should have clarified a number of issues you picked up on.
The document is set up in an 8×10 Blurb template (because most of my sites are portrait orientation) and the “cover page” is actually Page 1 of a Blurb template (the cover is a separate document at this time because…[Read more] -

Asia Landscape 14 years, 4 months agoHi all…Just joined and am really interested in Chinese and Japanese landscape architecture. China is what made me switch from International Environmental Policy to Landscape Architecture and so I now feel the need to give back in some way shape or form. Excitement abounds.
