I am searching for any and all candidates who lost any LARE exam credit during CLARB’s transition. We could get a class action lawsuit started if we can get enough people.

1) CLARB’s short notice was intentional. The main purpose is so that the fewest amoun of candidates possible are given a fair shot. Reason: CLARB’s statistics show that it takes the average candidate 3 attempts to pass the last 3 exams. By offering a “1 year transition” most candidates don’t have time to take the last 3 exams 3 times since…[Read more] -

That’s an idea. But, from what I gather, the problem is that CLARB will never allow another organization provide the same service. CLARB is the end-all be-all.

Seriously. You made this comment. You have no meaningful reply, or nothing else to say? How about “I’m sorry for accusing you of wanting to “Fight”. Or yes I was wrong, I didn’t understand the situation that CLARB forces candidates to pay for a record… Come on man… Please don’t leave pointless dialect or comments on our discussion, please…

As you can see. I edited my comment prior to you responding… because I knew you would take it the wrong way. Sorry. I though it might lighten up your mood, but then again… I realized you don’t completely know what your talking about, so I better be careful on how I approach this hostility.
You talk about fighting CLARB. I never mentioned…[Read more] -

You are obviously a person who doesn’t keep good records… by your own admission in your writing above. Maybe that’s why you feel you need CLARBs services.
Let me explain how it works. Candidates are required to have a Council Record. When you are finished, yes (you are correct), they may opt-out. But for now I must have (and pay) for one.
If…[Read more] -

All right, I see the problem now. You don’t understand what your talking about. I forgive you. Actually, to correct your mistake, the Council Record is required for you to complete your license. I can send you the link and the emails that I (now) am receiving from CLARB telling me that it’s required if you like. Maybe its not required for…[Read more]

Geezz. Hostel are we? 🙂 If you want to take it there we can, but I’m not that type.
I don’t appreciate the attacks. So take your negative energy to another discussion.
Anyway, in response. This information (for me at least) is all accumulated over time. I understand that CLARB can collect this information. What I am saying is that I don’t believe…[Read more] -

Some people might need that service. But if you are someone who works in and out of the country, and not in various states, its useless and should not be required.
And yes. It’s that easy. Work records are available at the IRS or your accountant’s office. I have delt with the state. Thank you. -

It’s either the individual or CLARB who provides information to each State. The state will take their time regardless of who provides the information. If your comfortable with CLARB, enjoy paying them for this service.
I choose not to trust CLARB. -

I truly appreciate the kind words of encouragement. You are correct. There are many unjust things in life. As the old saying goes “life is not fair”. Not that I think that all the time… I will finish. I will not get any money back. Money is the last thing that I wanted in return.
What I had asked of CLARB and my Board was a chance to be heard,…[Read more] -

Agreed. CLARB invented this crap by selling it as a way to keep records organized, including past employment. They sold it by saying things like, “If you were employed for 10 years with the same employer, and that employer dies, then CLARB will maintain proof that you worked for that employer.” As if we are a bunch of idiots that don’t know how to…[Read more]

Seriously, all of what you have recently discovered is true. The only way to resolve this issue is through our professional community. ASLA and CLARB see that the way Landscape Architects and candidates get together is through ASLA. Which is why ASLA will not discuss these issues at the local or national level. And if they talk about it now, it’s…[Read more]

You read the orientation guide… Let me guess, it talks about restructuring, but very vaguely. And it doesn’t say anything about when the next restructuring might happen, or that candidates might lose credit. Right? The do this so that candidates don’t know what can happen or when the next restructuring will occur. If candidates knew that they w…[Read more] -

Wow! Dokumente bitte! Ve vill ask de questions! The only way to overturn this totalitarianism is for everyone to get together. This would have to be done without the support of ASLA or CLARB? It appears that some of the Boards still provide some hope. I can honestly say that all of the LA’s or candidates that I have met agree that license and…[Read more]

To CLARB’s credit, beginning in December 2012 they began offering the exams in multiple cities within my State. I think that’s nation wide. Although, the did remove all “graphic” requirements from the exam. Meaning, nothing is drawn anymore, it’s all preloaded onto a computer. You stare at a screen for 4 hours, and need no graphic skills.
This…[Read more] -

Trust me. CLARB created this mess knowing what they were doing and what feedback they would receive. I have tried to respectfully be heard by CLARB, my Board, and ASLA. Non of these organizations will hear my case. Every person that hears my story is sickened by the unprofessional manner which CLARB has handled the situation.
The problem is that…[Read more] -

I have details, date, written documentation from CLARB and my state Board, undeniable facts, that are scary. The salaries are true. But there is more… These people rotate business like the revolving door at the Saint Regis. I need more support. Sections C,D&E alone cost me roughly $5000. I passed some on the first try. Never passed D. CLARB took my money and my credit. Told me there are 99 people in my exact same position. That’s an estimated $495,000 dollars. Doesn’t even include people who only passed one Section.
