L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 3 months agoHas anyone seen the pass rates for Section E from June 2009 and Dec. 2009? Talk about a big drop. Went from 48% to 32%. Wow! It seems that there is a cycle as far as passing rates go.

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 3 months agoI too…would like to thank Brandon for this thread. I passed A, B, C, & D first time through in (March & June of 2008). Now if only I could pass E (failed it three times, most recently Dec. 2009).

I finally decided to fork over a rediculous sum of money to CLARB ($160) to review redlines. REDICULOUS! Shouldn’t it be part of the original $330? I…[Read more] -

Take a look into Portland, Oregon. I ran into a small town in Washington – Washougal which had just rennovated it small downtown main street for farmers markets and plaza space. All parallel parking areas were pervious pavers with slots in the curbs for water to drain into planted swale areas. Very functional example. I can send you some pictures…[Read more]

I can see why people want to use your work to sell theirs, its great. One of the big questions to ask is how are they getting the images? If its from the web, thats pretty easy, just right click and choose ‘save as’. You may want to chat with your web people to set your gallery up as a flash slideshow/gallery, as to avoid the easiest way to steal…[Read more]

I’m in the same situation – off work to raise kids now finally getting down to my exams.
My recommendation is to read the books they have listed on the study materials. I wouldn’t bother with the study materials that you can buy from Amazon (published by ppi). I got them and they are way harder than the tests – probably a waste of money. I don’t…[Read more] -

I am going for an interview in two weeks. I can not give specifics as the position is not currently being advertised and I don’t want a frenzy of inquiries & possible competition for the position.

I will say that it is for a very good firm in a notorious rust belt city near my fiance’s family. We are thrilled at this possibility! I pray…[Read more] -

This is a great discussion, I look forward to hearing the conclusions of all your responders. I didn’t reply originally because my answer is both Yes and No.
I was laid off from my old firm in Oct 2008, my husband shortly thereafter. We’d talked about starting up our own firm and decided this was the perfect time to do it. So a year ago, we…[Read more]

Librety Hills in Charleston, SC used permeable pavers in the alleys of the development. Oak Terrace Preserve in Charleston also uses permeable pavers in the alleys and also used curb-side bioretention swales that flow to pocket parks that treat stormwater. The Johnson Medical Center in Clayton, NC uses a large bioretention cell in its parking lot…[Read more]

No- 13 months.
I think work or no work, everyone is scared of what is coming next out of Washington. I am now living with my in-laws, who own a dental practice. They get information every month about pending legislation and what it will do to their operating, overhead, etc. They are waiting to see what will get passed and how they will have to…[Read more]

Guys, I’ve been out of school and work for 10 years (kids). I’ve got tons of regurgitated and new study material and have been to last years preps. My problem is that the lare is a moving target and I am trying to do this with dwindling funds. I am studying A now and everywhere I look, new issues pop up that require hundreds of dollars to gain…[Read more]

How was your visit? What did you see? I live in Vienna, but was fully booked over the weekend. Otherwise I could have given you a tour of some places.

More detail about my job situation, which is in SC: I was living at the coast and working in a planning dept. 4 years ago, and I went back to grad school to get my MLA (a dream of mine for about 15 years now). I graduated in May of last year. During the preceding months I had spoken to several firms that were very positive towards me and I was…[Read more]

Hello?! Any of Roberto Burle Marx’s gardens (Brazil) or Luis Barragan’s landscapes (Mexico). I would particularly love to see Marx’s personal gardens – just amazing texture color and modern sensibilites.

Kendall, I heard that info on water use directly from green building consultant Chris Klehm, so I took it as gospel. It has occurred to me that a huge amount of fuel could be saved if all garbage hauled by trucks was dry, even if you are just drying things out before they’re hauled off. We must be trucking millions of gallons of water to landfills…[Read more]
