Ridzuan, I’m going to agree with Jason about consulting a structural engineer. I can’t really tell anything about the structure from the photograph. I don’t see any method of drainage on the roof and can’t tell where the concrete deck is your talking about. Is the concrete under the metal roof?

If the weight tolerance of the roof is that close, I would not put a green roof on the building. Even with lightweight growing medium, the wet weight of the medium, and any water retained/percolating sounds like it would be too much for the structure and have an adequate safety margin. You might want to talk to a structural engineer to see just…[Read more]

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 3 months agoTwo points Brandon makes that I would like to reiterate, because they are really important if at first you don’t succeed….
Be really careful about reading the requirements of the vignettes. CLARB places a very high premium on the KSA “Ability to Read, Understand and Follow (precisely) Written Directions”.
Figure out your weaknesses and bring…[Read more]

Hi,
I will certainly post some images of the grass roof as soon as i can. I have been taking photos through the construction phase, I only seeded the roof in september and there is not much to look at at the moment.
~I am hoping by the end of the summer there should be a nice sward and lots of wildflowers on the roof.
So once that has happened…[Read more] -

I very much dislike the subscription business model. Won’t even consider it as long as that is in place. It seems REALLY expensive to not even own the software. If you use CAD anyway, I think there is better stuff out there for the money. Check out the three software packages that were a recent webinar with LandFX, Vectorworks, and Dynascape.…[Read more]

I imagine Ready Set Practice by Bruce Sharky or Guidelines for Professional Practice by Lane Marshall would address this.

same story here as nrschmid. Both with the calls every month asking if I want to activate a trial now that they added cad integration, and with the feeling about the graphics. the fact that you can do basic animation and lighting, along with its plant image database, give it an edge over Sketchup, but not much of one in my opinion. It does ad some…[Read more]
