This is quite different from the aquarium photos, but you could try sheet piles. They would look urban, in an industrial sense, but that may not be the urban style you’re looking for. The volunteers also might need some professional help driving and cutting the piles.

hi, i am not too far from Walnut Creek (el Cerrito)… just an idea:
maybe you can suggest to UC Berkeley extension, which has a program in Sustainability, that high-lighting your project in gallery/classroom environs,,, or in fact suggest UC could have submissions for future competitions… which in effect could increase enrollment to their…[Read more] -

It’s not off the beaten path by any means, but the holocaust memorial in the heart of the city is really something. Getting down inside the monument really gives one an eerie feeling of loneliness. Very compelling public art/architecture.

Thanks for the fast response. It was very helpful. I looked through a lot of helpful plugins and ruby scripts that will be useful. I don’t know who Andrew is. So, I can’t contact him. On another note, what is the script/plugin that automatically fills in the space between CAD lines with plains?BTW, I ordered your book & will get it soon.…[Read more]

I printed my original portfolio through Lulu. I was very happy with the results and pricing. As I am finishing up my second version I am looking into other options.

I thought it was clear: that these systems, whatever their merits, are not the same system that Ferdash was asking about.

I like issuu the best because it’s in booklet format so you can have a feel of your portfolio before you print it out. It’s easy to use too, just upload a pdf and ur done.

I should add that I realize that the printer doesn’t actually print transparency, but higher end printers (in most of the offices I’ve been in) which use paper profiles will adjust a print to allow for transparent effects for different paper types. Whew… that’s better…

I’d be careful about using the eraser tool to lighten an area. Technically you aren’t lightening it, but making it more transparent, and depending on the paper you’re printing on, it can have an unwanted effect on the color you’re looking for.
Otherwise, the dodge tool is the way to go there, or if you want a more linear look, you can create an…[Read more]

Take a look at what Tournesol Siteworks has to offer. They are not the cheapest but are supposed to be one of the best. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to spec their greenwalls.
