Well for the most case, its appears that most others on here are just as ignorant as me, just against what i think.   Well im not looking to own my own shop. just make people aware that it is possible to change the font, and that contrary to “popular” belief papyrus is not a good font.  

The “elective” was the .1%  not all of us can afford to go to grad school, and mildy expected to learn somethings like graphics while an undergrad.. i guess thats what i get for expecting something.

Okay, yes i agree with you said, but will you settle with graphic communicator?  I was not aware of the LA vs. LD dichotomy.  At my university there is a landscape design a landscape architecture program, and they are not the same.

I think lily said it perfectly. I only use one font!  I dont stress out about it, i dont waste $100 an hour, I’m not sure about what you learned at Idaho, but how can you not say all design is not graphic design. i believe the book for landscape architect to use when making construction docs is called the “graphic standards for landscape architects..” i could be wrong miss…[Read more]

Just because james cameron does it does not mean landscape architects should use it. I liked titanic, but im not building a boat, or drawing Rose.

I just graduated, and i am not about to snub the very institution that gave me a degree (cum laude i must add) but there is a few places to add it.  I mean even just one graphic design class is more than needed.

Unique?  How is something that every “natural” food vendor and landscape design company uses unique.  I could see if it was some custom font, then yes it is unique.. but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Im not some over indulgent font dictator.  I spend no more time (see comment about the 7 seven extra seconds it takes to change a font) than someone who uses papyrus.  I only use 1 font, it is set on my character styles, so in reality it takes me less time.  Im not a plant wizard, so now since i don’t spend all my time picking out a zany font or…[Read more]

Well its Iowa State, and No.  I dont use hand graphics, and 99.9% of  computer related knowledge is self/peer taught.

you dont want to be a graphic designer.. how do you present your work, a roll of trace and some crayola markers? You like a aesthetic things, yet you dont like graphic design.. um hello.. something seems a bit off with that statement.  Your mocking attitude is a bit concerning.  I wish you good luck.

Isn’t all design graphic design?  I’m just thinking of the checklist of the projects that I had at university:  Plans (text on there), sections (text saying whats going on in the sections), perspectives (captions), and concept statements (all text).
