Doh! Well, the architect seems to have a knack for inadvertently designing death rays. I think the team needs to do a few more sun/shade studies 🙂

Hi Regina,
Great question! Here is the pdf version of AIA CAD Layer Guidelines. I typically use a modified version of the layer naming convention, but always prefix layer names with L- to designate landscape layers. For example, L-WALL, L-PAV, etc. Also, here are a couple of other discussion on Land8 that you might want to ref…[Read more]

Hi Karmara,
Might be able to find someone in the LARE Group that is in your area. You can also do a search for members in your area here: https://land8.com/profiles/members/advancedSearch
Hope that helps!

I think this discussion has some merit, however, I am more interested to know the answers to questions like:
1. What are 3 things that make a recent grad employable?
2. What are 3 best things that new hires can do to make an immediate impact/contribution in the studio?
3. What are 3 questions to ask during an interview to ensure the ca…[Read more] -

A good design problem for a class, indeed. Reminds me of what our friend, William H. Whyte once said:
“All things being equal, you can calculate that where pedestrian flows bisect a sittable place, that is where people will most likely sit. And it is not so perverse of them. It is by choice that they do so. If there is some congestion, it is an…[Read more] -
