p.s. Sandra, if you find other gardens that aren’t on the TLD, please let me know and I’ll add them – that goes for anywhere, including Portugal. We are always expanding our database.

Hi all, I am a landscape architect who has recently relocated to Abu Dhabi and is looking for work. Any suggestions or better still – anyone know of any companies who are currently hiring?? It seems, like always, networking is the best way to get into any company so thought I would try my luck here!
Thanks! -

Hi everyone
I would also recommend a conference, it is arranged by my departement, is held in English and is taking place in Copenhagen at May 29th. It is called ‘World in Denmark’ and the theme is Change:
Change has become mantra: climate change, environmental, financial and political
change. Change in nature and society has before resulted in…[Read more] -

Hi here is a lecture that might be of interest to you. You can take part of it on the internet. It is done through a special software which you will have to download (see instructions bellow). Me and Andrew have used previously and it worked very well. We can considered the option of using this software for online seminars among our APULA Research…[Read more]

Agree with Ken and Blake. There’s also some nurseries that specialize in natives. Yerba Buena Nursery south of SF has a demonstration garden with labeled plants and the owners are VERY knowledgeable. Also, North Coast Nursery and Cal Flora in Sonoma County. Also, it’s good to be mindful of the fact that California has many totaly different native…[Read more]

The South Lake Tahoe and North Lake Tahoe Demonstration Gardens show a plethora of California Native plants used in the high Sierra. These gardens give great examples of California Native plants at diffrent stages of development.

Agree with Blake — the Merritt program is great. I also volunteered at Tilden’s native nursery on Thursday mornings — propagating, etc. It was a great way to learn about natives. U.C. Botanical Garden and the Tilden Park (native) Botanical Garden are both stunning places to check out CA natives in a park setting.
