You’re website is really well done.
Did you use a template or did you build from scratch?
What program did you use to build it?
Best of luck with your business! -

Do you want the legal answer or the touchy feely answer? Legal answer… in the US…
States with practice acts (45) require a license to practice landscape architecture.
States with title acts (4) allow anyone to practice landscape architecture, regardless of their qualifications, but only those with a license may use the title “landscape a…[Read more] -

After getting all this feed back, are firms that are still working doing predominantly government work. I used to work on developer driven projects but it has flat-lined.

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 1 month agoCongratulations Brandon, anyone who has taken Section E multiple times (including me) shares your sentiments. I passed after 7 times. After the second or third time I thought I would never get by Section E. I just couldn’t bring myself to quit. After passing, last June, I have just now sent in my application to take the CA supplemental. I too…[Read more]

No, 1.5 years.
When I was first laid off I was still a member of ULI and was in a Young Leaders group with all developers and a few lawyers. They all said It would turn around within the next few months and I said no way. That was a year ago. I don’t things will get better until next year.

I am happy to say I’m done now, passed grading and all the other sections and now I can move on with my life! And whoever recommended the LARCH software, there’s some…[Read more]

Ridzuan, I’m going to agree with Jason about consulting a structural engineer. I can’t really tell anything about the structure from the photograph. I don’t see any method of drainage on the roof and can’t tell where the concrete deck is your talking about. Is the concrete under the metal roof?

If the weight tolerance of the roof is that close, I would not put a green roof on the building. Even with lightweight growing medium, the wet weight of the medium, and any water retained/percolating sounds like it would be too much for the structure and have an adequate safety margin. You might want to talk to a structural engineer to see just…[Read more]

L.A.R.E. – ANYTHING GOES 16 years, 1 month agoTwo points Brandon makes that I would like to reiterate, because they are really important if at first you don’t succeed….
Be really careful about reading the requirements of the vignettes. CLARB places a very high premium on the KSA “Ability to Read, Understand and Follow (precisely) Written Directions”.
Figure out your weaknesses and bring…[Read more]

Hi,
I will certainly post some images of the grass roof as soon as i can. I have been taking photos through the construction phase, I only seeded the roof in september and there is not much to look at at the moment.
~I am hoping by the end of the summer there should be a nice sward and lots of wildflowers on the roof.
So once that has happened…[Read more] -

I very much dislike the subscription business model. Won’t even consider it as long as that is in place. It seems REALLY expensive to not even own the software. If you use CAD anyway, I think there is better stuff out there for the money. Check out the three software packages that were a recent webinar with LandFX, Vectorworks, and Dynascape.…[Read more]
