I couldn’t believe it was opening on the day after we left. I was there this past weekend with my wife, Mom, and sis. It was my first time being back in NYC in 5 years. O well, I guess I will just have to take another trip in 5 years. I was able to get a few pictures of it though.

Then the next week I would set aside two hours and do two problems in one sitting. I did this until I was able to set aside 4 hours on the weekend and go through 4 vignettes just like the real exam.
This helped me tremendously because I had that mental time clock already in place and I did not panic when I took the real exam. Now, it took me a couple of times for Section E, but I was very fortunate to pass C on my first attempt. Reading through the problems and knowing you can do all 4 problems in the allotted amount of time is what helped me most.

I’m a UGA grad like yourself and have been very fortunate to still have my position with the firm I started working with right out of school. On the other hand, I have been keeping up with my classmates and they have not been so lucky. When I have talked with them a majority of them have gone back to school. One is going back to be a veterinarian. One for architecture. One for City planning. One for Law school. One is going back to seminary school. Some others are working for the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Some are dabbling in graphic design. One is an insurance agent. So I think people are just doing whatever they can right now.
I think you could probably do graphic design, possibly advertising(if you can find a firm that will take a chance on a BLA grad), if you are a good people person then you could do sales in just about anything.
My Dad always told me through high school and college that as long as you can solve problems and work with people then you can do just about anything unless your degree is super specialized. I tend to think that our degrees are somewhat specialized, but we can work well with people and solve problems so it shouldn’t be a limitation.
Hope that helps.

I just checked my score and found out that I passed. So now I am done with all my tests and can move on to other challenges in life.Did you get my direct message I sent you last Friday? If not I can send it again.

I have fortunately still been employed with the same company. I have had to take a reduction in pay, but most everyone I know that has kept their current jobs has had to do the same thing. I am just grateful to still be employed at this point.Hope that helps.

I imagine that the cost would be extremely high for cities to try and implement some of the Local Code into their unused spaces, but they do not have to do it all at once.
It would be a nice discussion on whether or not it would improve(value of property, water quality, quality of life) a city or not. That’s my take at least.

I think that would be the only way for my wife to look at my work!January 27, 2010 at 5:50 pm #171407David LorberbaumParticipantIn our office we all use Photoshop for our digital renderings. I think it helps using one program to do our renderings because we typically all use the same format so that anyone can pick up the rendering at anytime to work on it. This works well when someone is sick or needs help with a rendering.
I think you can see the problem with using different programs if everyone doesn’t know how to use them. Now if everyone knows how to use all the programs within the office then I do not think it matters.
That’s just my two cents. It works fairly well in our office.

DavidDecember 4, 2009 at 9:41 pm #172109David LorberbaumParticipantWhen I took the exam in the summer of 2008 there were not any “essay” or comparison type problems. I am not sure if they still have those on exams anymore. I know that friends and colleagues that have taken the exam the past couple of times have not had any problems like that either.
That’s not to say they will not have one this go around. So to answer your question I have no idea if they have been removed or not. I just know the past year and a half they have not had one on the exam. I hope this helps and good luck!

Also, if you were attempting to really impress someone or just wanted a different term for “sense of place” you can go with Genus loci.6 to one person, half dozen to another person.

Our big parks are still being developed, but Red Mountain Park, once it is completed, will be over 1,100 Acres and is only about a 5 minute drive from the center of the city. Also, try and stop by New Orleans. Tons of great places to see there. I have been several times but have yet to visit the garden district. That would be my suggestions since I have not been to Texas or any states further west besides California.

How did they find the wood for the wood elements at the playground? They are fantastic looking. -
