  • Scott,
You sound like your open to anything. I have had experience with both Vectorworks, Autodesk and Microstation and I would have to say that Vectorworks Landmark has been the superior software.
Once you have made a decision keep me in mind. With my practice I’ve also started providing technical guidance including transitioning to Vectorworks.

Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Kyle,
Not sure if you have taken the plunge yet or not but I wanted to respond. To your question if there are compatibility issues between platforms with sketch up and “CAD”. As for sketch up I personally use mac as part of my consulting business and it seems to work better on mac than windows. The days of cross platform compatibility are long in…[Read more]

  • Tanya,
A lot of this depends on what you are going to use it for and even to a certain extent what software you are currently using for design.

    Jon,
During the last 18 years of using auto cad and even micro station I finally changed over to Vectorworks in 2010. The change in process from AutoCAD is a bit of a challenge and the way in which you manage other consultants backgrounds is very different but…
The productivity and quality and speed of creating planting plans and even doing site…[Read more]

    Justin,
Have you considered Vectoworks Landmark. I suggest you look into it in place of landfx. It has a great interface for windows or mac and can do so much more that just planting plans.

  • Alan,
These other packages are great but have you considered Vectoworks Landmark? I’ve been using it for over a year and the 3D modeling, grading and Landscape are far superior to Autodesk’s solution for a fraction of the price.
