I generally agree with your first paragraph, but then there are opportunities to use work along “fair use” guidelines. I’ll admit it can be a grey area as I’m sure Shepard Fairey can attest to. (For those who don’t know him, he created the iconic Obama “hope” image from an AP Photo.)

I liked them too. In fact they were easier to work with then my current host. That being said, when there is a server problem the host I have now is really really good.

I like the initial animation. You might speed it up slightly and actually (assuming you haven’t done this already) use it as a part of your preload. IE. What do you think the ratio is right now for LAs? Nationally the ratio is 1:6 (job : seeker). I’m guessing LA is more like 1:10 or higher?

There was a similar article in 2008 for “2009”. I’m not sure what they are looking at. I’m not as pessimistic as others on this site, but I’m thinking that by 2018 LA as a profession will have likely just gotten its stride back (in whatever form is anyone’s guess).

I too have gotten into Flash in the last few years. I built a flash website in 2007 when I last switched jobs and in the last year completely redid it with a stronger UI using AS 2.0. Its amazing what i’ve learned in the last two years and the quality difference.

I worked there for about 2 and a half years and I would say the systems are drastically different. One of the biggest differences is that construction isn’t really part of the field. You won’t be pumping out CD sets over there. From speaking with fellow employees there appears to be no construction element in their degrees either.
