I too have used it for land planning studies that are mostly diagrammatic, symbolic and use a lot of annotations.

I find it useful mainly for diagramming and also layout and labeling.
Where it lacks, other cs software makes up for, which is probably why photoshop and indesign are what they are. Its a good program.

Chad Crutcher replied to the topic Where do you find Inspiration in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION 16 years, 2 months ago
Zach,
I have been monitoring this thread to see if/when somebody would post a response. I suggest the dearth of activity is because the question is not really phrased correctly…at least, in my opinion. You see, the point is not what is used for inspiration, it is how inspiration is attained. Your question presupposes there can be a single…[Read more]

Possibly the most cost-effective option would be a modular block wall with vines. However, at this height a modular block wall would probably need some sort of geo-grid reinforcing, and that could effect what is placed behing the wall. Otherwise, a cast-in-place wall with a decorative veneer could work with vines as well.
The ‘plantable’ stones…[Read more] -

Keven isn’t exactly on point with being behind the curve with technology, they have a pretty decent computer lab with all your design essentials: creative suite, 3d studio max, sketchup and i am sure they are adding others. Plus the staff knows what they are doing and helps you become familiar with them enough to master them. I graduated in…[Read more]

I went to ESF, loved every second of it. The professors are top notch and I know they are making some positive changes to the program… I’d seriously go talk to them in person.

Make a website instead. Its really easy with a little patience…
I used http://www.wix.com as they make it really simple. I then purchased a domain name from go-daddy.com for my first and last name for very little money.
I print out personal business cards on card stock at my home printer with my contact and website info, and tell them my work is…[Read more]

Alessandro: A company in Maryland USA has developed wall “stones” that are mostly hollow. Plantings in each “stone” then grow to create a (literally) green wall.
You can see these at http://www.furbishco.com. On the ‘Retaining Walls’ page, click on ‘FAQ’ and there are pictures of several installations. On that page they also say that the molds for the…[Read more]

There are many methods to do a planted wall or “green wall.” I have sometimes simply used prostrate (spreading on the ground) plants on the top of the wall to hang over and down the wall. But with a wall of that height you ought to consider how any green treatment will be efficiently maintained.
With a 4m embankment, I expect structure to be the…[Read more]

A great way to learn about this kind of permitting / regulation is through non-profit orgs – the sierra club, non profit public interest research groups (they often focus on environmental issues and are usually named by the state they are in plus PIRG, as in MNPIRG for Minnesota), restoration groups, etc.

i have been wondering this same questions? did you ever get an answer? and even just certification programs in NEPA cost around 5500 bucks, and I can only find two locations that support it, that is duke and Utah state… And it looks as though both those certificate programs are mainly geared towards people that have some experience in…[Read more]

Jon,
Yes, you can ‘edit’ an album. You can upload pictures first, then click and drag them into the album you choose from your gallery or you can choose the album you want the images added to in the drop down menu on the upload page.
