I found what you need :
wiremesh topiaryCows graze, and at the same time trim and maintain topiaries, which you shape to your fancy (mythology, cosmos, modern, classic…). You could even have cow shaped topiaries, fertilized and maintained by real cows. (mirror of culture on reality, while reality entertains culture)
Loads of karma…[Read more]

cows are holy sacred animals, you should be roasted in the flames of the 3.748 hells for trying to keep then out of the turf. Evreyone should enjoy the benefits of rain gardens, especially animals.
They will fertilize the rain gardens, isnt that fantastic ?Now, back to work.

I looked for the same type of info not so long ago. Spent hours reading stuff here and on other sites, downloaded tons of blocks, linetypes, and so forth… On my part, I work with people who do not have CAD standards, so I kinda make up my own, bit by bit. It’s quite time consuming, but I consider it an investment on ‘the learning curve’.
As for…[Read more]

I don’t know if this is available/suitable to your area :
Trachelospermum asiaticum
Jasmine smell, grows in shade, use as groundcover or climber. Trim if you’re not after ‘natural’ look -

I do not think they would try to keylog my computer (too advanced), and I ran a detector a couple of times here and there (nothing detected). Now, as you said, only way to feel really comfortable seems to be encryption. I will definitely look into it now, as it doesnt seem to affect performance.
Cloud based work sounds interesting (novel concept t…[Read more] -

Thanks for your input Jason, meets my expectations about portable appz : just not functional yet.
I already have my custom cad files (templates, plotstyles, patterns etc…) on my external drive, works great 🙂

Thanks Chris for your detailed answer, much appreciated. I will check info on the programs you mentioned.
Thank you very much about your input on the portable appz, seems like it’s just not the way to go in my situation. As an aside, the program I use now does not have the flaws you mentioned, of course that wouldn’t be secure at all. 🙂 -
Goustan BODIN replied to the topic Why don't professors teach more AutoCAD in schools? in the forum TECHNOLOGY 10 years, 7 months ago
Yup, sorry I answered your rant, just meant to make a general comment. Anyways, autocad and other programs are just production tools, to each his/her own preferences. Why should they be taught at schools when there is such a wide array of suitable softwares, and some professionals won’t ever have to touch them ?
School for architects is a place to…[Read more] -

I’d break down the question like this : once working, do young professionals have a chance to learn all the analytic skills they need to make a good designer ? Do they have a chance to broaden their horizon beyond the office’s practice and have a chance to think/elaborate on other techniques, theories, aspects of the profession ?
Once working, do…[Read more]

Architects I’ve met love money. All of them, whatever their skill/level of dedication is.

I believe Tosh K understated the ‘learning curve’ aspect of the whole thing. It takes quite some time before you can get something satisfying out of your time investment.
If you are already :
– busy
– good at the techniques you use
I’d suggest you focus your spare time improving your skill-set where you’re good, and hire someone to do the c…[Read more] -

Hi Rob, great find, thanks a lot ! I just browsed through quickly now and will read it carefully tonight : I love these trees at Angkor Wat complex.
About the soil here : Bangkok is located on an estuary, soil is uniquely composed of fine sediments until way deep under. At ground level, it is all compacted and drenched clay : water table usually…[Read more]

Interesting products, thanks a lot Jason. We are still speaking of compaction though. And that sort of maintenance would scare any client I know of.
Let me copy here a comment which I find brilliant, given to me on another site :

That was one of my first intuitions : was thinking of laying bundles of bamboo strips and having the surface above. Good for the roots as long as it lasts.
Problem is : what happens once the ‘mulch’ disappears ? Surface lands on roots, maybe cracks opened…
Sound like we fall back to the ‘stilts’ structure solution. -

Good point about the guard rail : hadnt thought about that.
At first I didn’t think about the pavers option. Then, it has been suggested to me here :
