they do cost if you personalize your web address, because it is better to have a http://www.your-name.com instead of a http://www.wix.com/blah blah

The domain name is a couple of bucks a month, and the premium site hosting is $10-15 a month, so there is some cost. As far as being complicated, it isn’t and there are walk throughs on how to do it so it is fairly dummy proof. I didn’t watermark anything because most of my images are owned by the firms that I worked with when I designed it, s…[Read more]

That is what I did and it worked very well. I purchased my domain name from go daddy so it is personalized and put it out there.
My bosses saw all my work before I even stepped in the door and were impressed that I made my own website (I didn’t let them know how easy it was). This gives me the ability to make sure anyone who sees my portfolio v…[Read more] -

I would have found space for 3-4 burr oaks, making sure they had enough growing medium and protection to survive. In 40 years, they would make an awesome space.

I willingly confess to so great a partiality for trees as tempts me to respect a man in exact proportion to his respect for them. ~James Russell Lowell

I don’t like how they showed in the picture a ginko tree, which I consider worthless…Great article though. I am thinking about starting a non-profit urban forestry alliance in my city focusing on the health and viability a healthy tree canopy all the way to the ground… this could be good ammunition.

I see.
I prefer stouts and porters, so microbrews are the only way to go. Guinness is absolute crap.

Bees don’t bother people, you have to go out of your way to get stung, like slapping the queen.

When I was a kid, I liked to run, jump, climb and hide, normally not in the same place twice. Today’s safe play equipment would have bore me very quickly, and I would have begged to either leave or found an actual challenge elsewhere.

My personal preference would have been an act of defiance. I would have created a world class public space which focused on bringing life back to the space opposed to a cold and depressing reminder of all those that died. I think that would have been more constructive in the healing process honor to those we lost — instead of memorializing a p…[Read more]

Its our fault if municipalities or towns want an architect or an engineer instead of an LA. We know what our value is, yet we are perhaps too modest when it comes time to sell ourselves. Perhaps we need to take the approach of the architect and engineer and grossly oversell ourselves, perhaps then we’ll get the work that is rightfully o…[Read more]
