Like Mark said I think there are jobs being created…around here at least. There are wind farms going up all over the PNW…do those count as green jobs? Funding for a sustainable business complex at the Port of Lewiston went through this year. The problem is that because construction and development has dropped across the board the huge firms…[Read more]

My community has these projects too…my City has been extending sidewalks and trails for the past several years. Additionally, we have funding for a transit center…and we are a small town but they are really encouraging people to use mass transit.

Green jobs will be created when the market determines they can save more money or make more money. If we mean green jobs as in landscape architecture…well I don’t think we are going to see that. If you mean green jobs as in biotech/smart grid, etc….those will be created as quickly as the market dictates.
When I see a question like this I…[Read more] -

Define make their own way? I don’t mean ones that are run inefficiently…but just at a local level we pay taxes to have services performed. Our region has been fiscally responsible…saving away for times such as these…so far our parks are still maintained and roads still plowed in the winter. No police have been laid off nor have any teachers.…[Read more]

I wasn’t saying government doesn’t create jobs…but it does not create near enough jobs for everyone that needs one. My point was that we aren’t sitting around for a job. And I don’t blame a politician because I don’t have one.

Heather Smith replied to the topic Typical drawing production hours CAD & hand drawn in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION 13 years, 5 months ago
You should not have to convert their drawings to your scale
Shouldn’t have to but sometimes you do. My husband was given a file from a land surveyor and had to clean up some pretty sloppy work and bring it to scale.
I haven’t use CAD for a long time…:P But I do know that you will get faster once you get your hatches, line weights, etc. all…[Read more] -

Personally I never expected him nor do I expect any president to create jobs. My husband on the other hand started his own business. Want more jobs? Create more jobs.

You do understand we know how to change font? I guess you just need to vent about this…vent away. But don’t expect all of us to feel as strongly as you…and I certainly don’t think it makes anyone ignorant…because they don’t feel the way you do. I actually don’t understand the point of your post. On one hand you want to complain about people…[Read more]

Heather Smith replied to the topic Where are the war protesters? in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION 13 years, 5 months ago
I protested the war in Iraq years ago before it started and have protested here in Moscow on one occasion…I think it was one of the anniversaries. The level of anger geared towards us was amazing…we had our children with us and people were yelling expletives out the window and pulling in front of us as we crossed the street.
That said, I was…[Read more] -
